Charlotte, Change Maker, Strengths Coach and Founder of Power of the Parent, self-built her own WordPress website when she started her business. Whilst this served her well to get started she wanted to invest in a professional structured website to support the growth of where she wanted her business to go.
To start the project we reviewed all the content and pages that were on the website, putting them into a logical framework. Once we knew what content should be grouped together, I put together a sitemap focusing on simple navigation and best user experience (UX). Power of the Parent serves both individuals and businesses, so we needed to make sure the site visually appealed to both types of client whilst remaining true to the brand identity.
Over the last few years Power of the Parent has grown and developed, we have used the website to support these changes by added new plugins and capabilities. Power of the Parent now has a podcast which is hosted externally with the feed running into the site and videos are easily managed through hosting on YouTube and embedding on site, keeping site speed at an optimum level and users happy.
This project is a great example of how your website can adapt and grow as your business does. WordPress allows for you to build solid foundations, however small and add new capabilities as you need them.
here’s what charlotte said:
“I NEEDED THE ACCOUNTABILITY AS WELL AS THE KNOWLEDGE OF HOW TO TURN MY EMAIL MARKETING INTO SOMETHING”
“I love how you throw yourself into getting to know the businesses you’re working with and the people behind the brands. It was important to me to work with someone that not only had the tech wizardry that you do, but also ‘gets’ my business.“
